The challenge

The task was to invent and design an app that tackles the problem of sitting too much. The hardest challenge was to change the behavioral patterns of people, since habits are easy to get but hard to kill.

The approach

What motivates people? This was the question I started the project with and did some research into behaviour / behavioural change. After all existing habits are the biggest cause people do not change their behaviour. I started with several concepts that I tested with the target group (that is students). This showed me which parts where used/noted most, so I knew what was important to include to.

Outcome

The result of the project is Chair Up, an app that enables students to live a healthier life by sitting less. It will reach this goal by using social motivation, create awareness and informing on the subject. An appealing design helps to reach the target audience’s attention
